Homemade Ice Cream


  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 quarts half and half
  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup sugar or just a couple good scoops with your sugar scoop
  • 1 TBS vanilla or just dump some in
  • Dash of salt we use sea salt and, yes, it does make a difference
  • Whole milk


  • Put all ingredients but milk in your ice cream freezer (this recipe is for a 6 quart freezer) Mix a bit with a wooden spoon. Insert dasher into freezer. Add whole milk to make freezer can 2/3 full. Freeze as your freezer directions tell you! Lots of salt layered in with the ice :)
