Along with my patriotic pillows and the succulent and cactus pillows, I also recently created these smaller sized patchwork Ohio pillows. I made a few large sized Ohio pillows for my last pop-up shop and everyone loved them. Requests came in for some of the smaller size so I made a few.
Succulent and Cactus Pillow Designs
I shared my Patriotic pillows last week, so now it’s time to show you my succulent and cactus pillow designs! They were so fun to create, and are all available at local shops – Wright on High and Midwest Memories.
Scroll through the photos and leave me a comment – tell me which is your favorite.
Patriotic Pillows in Fun Prints and Styles
I made a few patriotic pillows recently and they turned out really cute! I don’t have a pop-up shop event before the 4th of July so I delivered them all to local shops. If you see something here you would like and your aren’t local just send me an email and I’ll fix you up! jill.flory@sewafineseam.com

Using Burlap in Unexpected Ways – a Rug and a Cat Bed
When it comes to textiles, I pretty much love them all. They all have a purpose and a place in this life. The textures and softness textiles bring to any decor really brings the space to life.
I especially love when textiles are used in unexpected ways. Today I’m sharing with you a couple ways I’ve been using burlap in unexpected ways.
Now burlap is a fabric that I have sort of a love/hate relationship with. I love the look of it and I love what other people do with it, but I don’t love to work with it myself. It’s itchy and messy and it makes my skin break out in a rash sometimes. Therefore I rarely use the stuff. I occasionally use it for a custom pillow request. Small bits of it here and there on a pillow or handbag design. But for the most part I stay away from the stuff anymore.
Prom Dress Makeover
Prom Dress makeover. Prom time? Really? Time flies. I know you know this. I know it’s cliche. But it’s also true! Suddenly, and without warning, I have an 18yo daughter who is graduating this spring. She has attended a local career center for her junior and senior years of high school, after homeschooling from 5th grade thru 10th grade.
She was chosen for Prom Court a couple months ago so we began the search for a dress for her to wear to Prom.
I thought I’d share what we came up with – our Prom Dress Makeover.
