I’m a sucker for a good romance. Pride and Prejudice is my favorite movie ever. A well-written romance book is a wonderful way to slip into a delicious daydream. Just like in the days of childhood when we played princess. I think this book, Born of Persuasion sounds like a great one to curl up with on a cold winter’s day. A blanket and a mug of hot chocolate and an hour or two to sink into the world of the 19th century, relax and smile over the characters brought to life in this period novel.
Some people are born breathing what will be their life profession. Some become doctors, some farmers, some scientists, some nurses, some entrepreneurs, some designers, and on the list can go. Some people are born to be an accountant.
31 years ago I sat in my second grade class-room, studiously working on my lessons. The boy beside me was also working hard. Math was his favorite and on this day I watched as he took not one, but two Math tests in one day.
I missed a few spots when I recklessly decluttered my house recently. You can read about my declutter here and here. One place I refused decided not to go through was my sewing machine desk. I share this and the photos just in case you were thinking my house is perfectly clean, organized, neat, and tidily declutted […]
This is what Middle and Little Sisters’ room has looked like for the past month. Or more. I’ve completely lost track of when it was cleaned up last. Every time I look in there thinking I will clean it up I get this sinking feeling and head back down the stairs and put it out […]

There are various stories out there about the origin of Valentine’sDay. Some call it a ‘made-up’ day andwant nothing to do with it. Some thinkit’s silly. Some roll their eyes. Others go all out – candy, flowers, cards, hearts, you name it! I like this storyabout its origin: In 270 AD the emperor of Rome outlawed […]
One of my favorites. The whole pile. Another favorite. This one was made by Little Sister (age 6) I glued the arrow where she told me to and I cut the upside down v in the post-it note. Now to get them mailed to people. Or hand delivered. Or maybe they will just be stuck […]
Stamps. A must when card-making:) I prefer Cavallini. I now have so many sets that they have to be stacked in TWO stacks on the shelf where I keep them. You just can’t have too many great stamp sets can you?? A trug full of supplies and tools. Scissors, punches, twine, ribbon, tape, tickets, glue… […]
So Little Sister had been asking to do some crafts. Thinking up crafts for her to do wasn’t really very high on my list of ‘things-to-do’. Then I thought of the crafty tutorials Kara had put on her blog! So I set up my laptop on the dining room table, got out some supplies and […]
Kara is doing some really cute Valentine crafts and sharing them over on her blog. You really must hop on over there and see what all she is creating. Little Sister has been wanting to do crafty stuff lately. I got the stamps, some valentine stickers, and some card stock out for her the other […]
Middle Sister started drawing last year. She would pause the DVD and draw what she saw on the screen. I was astounded when I saw this one, one of her first. May of 2011. Can you guess which Disney character she was drawing? I love how she did this one with the cat showing just […]
