Have you ever in your life seen such a fun furniture makeover?! I just LOVE this VW bus Larissa of Prodigal Pieces created. This is the second one she’s created and the first one was such a sensation that she created another. And this one is being auctioned off on ebay with all the proceeds going to Samaritan’s Purse.

Yep, you read that title correctly. I’ve created a Duct Tape Pennant Banner. The medium of choice for this months Project Challenge was Duct Tape. And I had grandiose plans for an ah-mAY-zing duct tape project. I even bought my duct tape months ago when I saw a roll of red, white, and blue Union Jack print duct tape. But, alas. My duct tape roll went missing. Abduction charges have been placed on my youngest daughter :D
Last Friday of September. Time for another Project Challenge – this month the category was to use a rusty item somehow. What to choose, what to choose. Cool, rusty items can be found in abundance if you just start looking. I had a handful of ideas but 4 rusty hairpin legs saved from the landfill won out.
I got the rusty bench legs from a friend who had a garage sale last spring. It was a rainy day and I wasn’t sure I was going to venture out. Then I received a text that there was this sort of cute bench at the sale but two of the legs fell off so it was going in the trash. But the legs were kind of neat and maybe I’d want them?
I rushed right over and saved those rusty, hairpin legs from the landfill.
Lace Embossing a Vintage Desk. Yes you read that right! This technique is one I absolutely love and I finally applied it to a piece of furniture. I learned this in paint training when I signed up with Paint Couture last Spring and I’ve wanted to do it on furniture ever since.
