16 years ago today I was lying in a hospital bed, contentedly holding and gazing at my tiny, new daughter. Miss Emma Kate graced us with her appearance after putting her mother through more than 27 hours of labor. Funny how a mama completely forgets how exhausted she is and the pain she’s just been through when that baby is placed on her chest and those tiny eyes search out mama’s eyes and the cries calm just from mama’s presence
Mud Hut Creations
Are you ready for summer yet? You know I am! I’m never ready for cold weather – I really should live in a climate that is warm year round. I don’t, though, so I make the best of it. (most of the time)
Today I’m reminiscing a little – I posted yesterday that my 9 and 11 year old girls are on their way to Kansas with their Grandparents. And it made me think back to our last trip to Kansas. We went last summer – seems like a long time ago already. They had a lot of rain before we got there so the creek beside my sister’s house was up and flowing over the dirt road. All the kids, from the youngest to the teenagers played in the water – and the mud. They made some pretty cool Mud Hut Creations and I want to share them with you.
Circle of Life
My thoughts are trending a bit to the melancholy side today. And I’m contemplating the Circle of Life. And the brevity of life. Just a vapor and then it’s gone.
Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving my friends.
I am thankful for so many things. My family, friends, my warm home, the wonderful meal we are having, so many more things.
I’ve been juggling my rapidly growing wholesale biz, decorating my home for Christmas, and keeping up with stuff at the store. I’ve been blessed this year and you, my friends, are a part of that blessing – thank you so much for coming by, for leaving me such sweet comments, and supporting me.
