I love bringing outdoor elements into my home for decor. It makes for a quick, easy, and cheap refresh of my home and adds seasonal decor without breaking the bank.

My middle girl is an up and coming artist. Truly. She does some amazing drawings. So for her birthday this year I decided to do an art themed party. She wanted just a few friends to come over for dinner so it wasn’t anything fancy at all, but I did come up with an art themed craft for them to do, served the dessert on artist palettes and even created an art themed decor piece.

Lace Embossing a Vintage Desk. Yes you read that right! This technique is one I absolutely love and I finally applied it to a piece of furniture. I learned this in paint training when I signed up with Paint Couture last Spring and I’ve wanted to do it on furniture ever since.
Happy Monday peeps! I hope you all had a great weekend. I had a busy one, finished up 20+ Christmas pillow designs and then made a run to IKEA for pillow forms. I have a brand-new, really cool, beautiful bike so I went for a bike ride on Sunday afternoon with my husband and teenager. Watched some football. Did a bit of damage control on our home – cleaned it up a bit to make it livable for another week!
And now it’s time for another Dose of DIY! This month we picked pumpkins as our category to DIY. Or decorate with. Or something. If it involves pumpkins it’s fair game 🙂
