This morning I took a trip down memory lane by looking at some old posts on my blog. I decided to share this one again. Spring is coming – hopefully really soon – and this t-shirt project would be a great way to add some fun to your girls wardrobe. If I were making these shirts again I would use elastic thread in my bobbin when sewing around the necks. These lasted just fine but I was always a bit worried the girls would break the stitching when they pulled them over their heads. The elastic thread in the bobbin allows you some stretch to the seam when finished.
Apron Tutorial
I shared this apron tutorial several months ago on Karen’s blog ‘Redoux‘. Now I’m sharing it here with all of you. And just in case you wonder – Karen was totally fine with me posting it here too 🙂 She asked if I was interested in guest posting and suggested a sewing tutorial. So I set about designing an apron that can be made without a pattern. With the help of my Teenager as a model, I did indeed come up with one.
A Sweet Monogram
I love getting emails from people who read my blog. It’s just fun 🙂 Several months ago I received an email from Melaine of My Sweet Savannah. She said she loved my blog and she loved the stuff in my etsy shop and she wondered if I was up for a trade – my sewing skills for some advertising on her blog. I emailed her right back, said I just might, and asked for a link to her blog. I’d not had not heard of ‘My Sweet Savannah‘ until she contacted me and I was missing out! Melaine is a great gal and her blog is now in my list of favorites, and she and I text more now than we email. I love the fact that we text – I love texting 😀

Painted Eggs Bunting
Paint. Eggs. Bunting.
Clarification: Craft paint, egg-shaped drop cloth pieces, and a pennant banner = painted eggs bunting!
Easter and Spring will soon be here (I hope). Well, we know when Easter is, we know when the calendar says Spring is, but the weather doesn’t always get the memo. But anyhow, crocuses will soon pop up around here followed by the tulips and daffodils.
My home decor will soon have some Spring and Easter accents showing up. I cannot wait to have windows open and sweet spring breezes wafting in, blowing away the chill and gloom of winter.
A Scarf with a Tale to Tell
The piece of fabric was delightfully printed with bright-colored hearts on a creamy background. It was a stretchy, textured, cozy knit and had all the potential to become something really grand. The fabric waited patiently to see what form it might take and what its life might look like. With the whimsical heart print it surely would lead a cheerful life – perhaps as a toy or accessory for some lovely little child. Even a cuddle blanket would be wonderful as the fabric was so soft and comfortable.
