I made a few patriotic pillows recently and they turned out really cute! I don’t have a pop-up shop event before the 4th of July so I delivered them all to local shops. If you see something here you would like and your aren’t local just send me an email and I’ll fix you up! jill.flory@sewafineseam.com

I share the most on Instagram – it’s my favorite 🙂
The patchwork stars ended up being my favorite I think, though I love them all. And that cute little patriotic bird that I added to this photo – that was made by Missy of The Little Greenbean. If you don’t already follow her you should.
This fun, patriotic fabric fabric is from last year, or maybe even the year before. It’s been popular and I have just a bit of it left.
Stars and Stripes.
The blue is hand stenciled onto the fabric, creating a fun detail.
More layered stars.
The wax figurine is from years ago, purchased from a shop called The Blissful. It’s no longer open for business but the old blog is still there and is rather fun to scroll back through. I loved watching that shop take shape and ordering things from them while they were open.
The letter board is from Letterfolk and is the Writer. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my letter boards. (yes I have 3 sizes) I highly recommend you invest in one or three (or more – I’m eyeing some other colors now) and express yourself with the written word for all to see!
Hand stenciled on our signature canvas fabric in navy, but could also be done in red.
Another patchwork star. These are fun to do and use scraps that would otherwise end up in the trash bin.
More stenciled details on cotton fabric.
All of these are the small size I’ve been creating for almost a year now. They are 14×14 and I use down alternative inserts for these. They are heavier than polyfil and feel almost the same as feathers or down.
A bit of a Swedish vibe in the form of red white and stars for some American patriotism.
Midwest Memories in Tipp City and Wright on High here in Covington, Ohio both got well stocked today. Not only with these little patriotic cuties, but also with some patchwork Ohio pillows and a brand new design involving cacti and succulents. I’ll share those in a separate blog post.
I’ve got events every month now through November. I’m staying ahead of it all for now, but I have a feeling the months of August – November may be crazy! I have 2 shows scheduled in August and am thinking seriously about adding another one in October. We have plans to buy our own trailer before the next even arrives and I’m so excited! The props and extra pillow forms can stay in the trailer instead of being lugged out and back to the places we stored them. It’s been rather interesting how creative we (I) have had to be to find the space to store everything with the space we have. We are still looking for a space for the business or a new place for us to live that would also provide a separate building for my business. And I really, really want my husband to have a nice work shop himself someday. He’s amazing at creating wood items and helping me with creative ideas I have. But for now, we continue to make it work with what we have. Each upgrade or change that makes things easier is so much sweeter when we’ve ‘made do’ for awhile 🙂
Have a wonderful summer, and thanks so much for coming over when I take the time to post!
Jill
Your pillows are so nice, I love Patriotic themes and have many flag/star items in my home especially for June and July holidays. Thanks for sharing and good luck at all your shows that are coming up…
Thank you so much Vicki! I have several vintage flags I’ve picked up at garage sales and I love them. I’ve used them for my summer home decor this year!
