My small, word art pillows have been so fun to create. The vintage detailing that make them one-of-a-kind is my favorite thing about them.
All the lace, doilies, trim, yo-yos, and fabric scraps are vintage finds. Body of pillow is our signature canvas fabaric as well as the frayed-edge pieces on which the words are stenciled.
It’s taken me awhile to get these created and shared because everything I add just adds more time to my workload!
These have been on my list for months now. I did a few last summer in the larger size, on a pure white fabric. They sold out rapidly and I have yet to restock them!
I am also bringing back an apron design from years ago and will be sharing those tomorrow.
This year has been a bit different in that I’m focusing more, being more intentional, and stocking ahead of time for all the events I have coming up. Restructuring and refocusing. July 1st will mark 5 years since Sew a Fine Seam became a registered business. So much has happened and changed since then! Most of it good, some of it stressful, lots of fun, and also some tears. Sew a Fine Seam was born in August of 2008 when I clicked ‘publish’ on my first blog post.
It’s always fun to look back over the years to see how much things have grown and changed. I like where I am today. It’s been a tremendously amazing journey. I’ve met some amazing people, made new friends, and am always so humbled that so many of you love the products I create and want to have them in your homes.
I have events scheduled every month June – November this year. As of now just one a month. We will perhaps add another one in November. I’ve not traveled to a Christmas pop-up shop show and this year I really want to make it happen. November seems a good time to be thinking Christmas!
With all the farmhouse, and cottage stuff trending I had to add ‘townhouse’. Cause I’m sure there are some others besides me who live in town. My house might be rather farmhouse in style but it certainly doesn’t sit on any farmland! It’s smack dab in the middle of a town neighborhood so I’d say ‘townhouse’ fits best 🙂
This one is my fav. I planned to keep the larger one I did last year if it didn’t sell but it did. I really must start making myself some pillows of my own instead of always selling them all!
Another fav because the beach is the place I’d always pick to be if I could.
I made several of these for last summer’s events and they sold very well. So I’m bringing them back this year.
Birds on a wire. This one is a fun addition to your farmhouse or cottage decor.
Cut out of wool felt and hot glued in place. I think this one would be totally sweet in a little girls room. Or a big girls room! I totally want one in MY bedroom!
We also offer our Ohio pillows in this small size. This coral colored fabric is one of my very favs this Spring.
The strawberry from my logo. Available just in time for strawberry season!
Vintage inspired, one-of-a-kind, and totally on-trend. These will all be traveling with me to pop-up shops and will be available at the little shop here in Covington, OH. Each one is unique. The next batch will have the same words stenciled on frayed edged canvas but the details will always be a bit different and unique. I have a stash of vintage trims and I just pull it all out and create away.
Okay – I need that pillow with the word “beach” on it because my last name is “Beach” . . . . .do you have any more of these?
