I have the most totally cool, jeweled cake tester ever. It’s beautiful and functional, and makes cake baking much more fun and exciting! I baked up a batch of muffins as soon as this beauty arrived just so I could use it.
All kitchen utensils should be beautiful don’t you think? It really does make it more enjoyable to work in the kitchen when the tools are pretty and fun to use.
Back before Christmas a dear friend asked me if I could please create some pillows for her that would be Christmas themed but not in traditional Christmas colors. You see, her family room is all done up in earth tones – all rusty orange and browns. And she decided to quit fighting that at Christmastime and forgo the traditional reds and greens and move on to bronze and copper.
Dear Bliss, of Bliss Ranch, I was so delighted to create her pillows and she was delighted with the end result. You can see those pillows in her post here.
After receiving the pillows, Bliss sent me this amazing cake tester – made by her daughter and detailed just for me. The one little charm added to the top has my initials engraved on it. And it’s red – just perfect as I’ve always loved the color red 🙂
And it’s just so fun to receive a ‘tip’ from a friend who loved what I created!
These jeweled cake testers are handmade with glass beads and I think they are just perfect. No more simple wooden toothpicks for checking cakes for me!
I think these would make lovely gifts for a bride or for a Christmas or birthday gift. You can find them at One30OneDesign. She takes custom orders too 🙂
I must confess, I haven’t actually made a cake yet, but it works just dandy on muffins. Or quick breads.
I have something else fun to share with you today too – until the end of March you can get some brown teff flour on SALE! The sale is on amazon – find it under Brown Teff Flour. You buy one, you get one FREE! It comes in 2 pound bags so you will get 4 pounds for the price of 2! Use code TENERA17 at checkout to get the discount.
You can see my review of Teff Flour in my post about the Teff Chocolate Loaf I made a few weeks ago. It’s a wonderfully fine flour that is gluten free. Read more of my details about it and then hop over to Amazon and buy some to try yourself.
Of course, you could always order a totally cool, jeweled cake tester to use on your Teff flour goodies too 😉
Have a wonderful week my friends!
I love the cake tester! What a fun idea! It is fun to have practical and pretty combined. I’ve worked toward this in my home over the years. So fun to create a home filled with things that inspire.
Isn’t it so fun!? I actually bought one after I got mine in the mail because I think it will be perfect to add to a giveaway I’m wanting to do!
What a wonderful treat to receive a “tip” for all your hard work. Great fabric selections that still say Christmas, good job…
Thank you Vicki!
how sweet!
Isn’t it?! I love beautiful kitchen utensils!
