If you follow me on facebook and instagram you know that my family and I just spent a week at the beach. It was wonderful and amazing and so much fun. I’ve been trying to get caught up since I got back and haven’t found the time to share yet – I have lots I’d like to share so today I’m starting with a few of my fav pics.
Above one of the doors in the house we rented was a sign that said ‘Life is good – but better at the beach.’
I so very much agree. I love the beach and could live there year round. There is just nothing like the waves rolling in forever. The salt air. The breeze off the water. The sand. The shells. Even the rain we had one morning was better at the beach.
Ahhhh. Toes in the sand. I couldn’t wait to curl my toes into the sand of the beach. And now I can’t wait till I can do it again.
My man loved the beach too. I think I may be able to convince him to take us back again 🙂
The shells – you just can’t walk the beach without picking up a few. Or a lot.
The waves were high and rough the first couple days – so awesome and amazing to see and feel the power in that water. We spent a lot of time letting those waves wash over us, playing in them, and marveling at them.
This pic was one of my sister’s. My sister, bro-in-law, niece and nephew went too. They actually planned to go first and asked us to go too. I’m so very glad they did!
After getting a bit too much sun my hubby decided he needed a hat – and a good idea that was too as he spent a morning on a fishing boat.
Sandcastles are so dreamy and wonderful.
A couple times I looked across the sands and wondered ‘who that woman was my hubby was talking to’. Then realized it was my teenager. My but she has grown up!
Me and my man. We LOVE the beach!
The hatteras light. This stately piece of American history makes my heart beat faster and my soul fill with awe. Oh the stories it could tell if it could talk.
Miss Becca Pearl taking in the sights from the top of the light. There are 257 steps from bottom to top of the hatteras light. Becca informed me on the way down that when she got down she would have walked 514 steps. Makes me happy that she is learning something during our homeschool hours!
I love this light. We hiked up it 18 years ago this September on our honeymoon. So blessed to be able to go back and take our girls.
More pics to come as I find the time to edit, download, upload, and post 😀
Your pictures are awesome!! I’m hoping to get some beach posts up soon{ish}.
Love the picture of your sunglasses on the beach and you got some awesome pictures of the lighthouse.
It was so much fun!
Great times with your family Jill, making memories. We went to Ocracoke Island and checked out their beach about twenty years ago. It was nice but the mosquitoes were about 2 1/2 inches long and went after us relentlessly–in swarms. Never in my life have I saw mosquitoes that large. I’m not a beach lover. I enjoy visiting historical places, museums, and camping. We did take our children to the beach when they were growing up and they love them. My daughter and her family just returned from Myrtle Beach.
This looks like it was a wonderful trip—I could use something like this. I love the ocean, too, and you captured it perfectly in your beautiful pictures!
I thought your daughter was you in the pic with your hubby. You could definitely pass for sisters!

I am so happy for you all to have gotten to enjoy a week at beach, must have been hard to leave. Looks like it was nice/warm enuf to go beachin’. Did you drag home all kinds of shells? Hey where’s your bathing suit? How come your hubs didn’t have blue toe nails? lol.
Must have been having lot better weather than us, whole durned month of May has been rain, hardly time for me to squeeze in hanging laundry. Yesterday hung whole load, got back in house and down it came, hail and all. grrrrr. Took it down and in dryer it went. Durned weather. Rain for almost rest of week and then some higher temps, has been bit nippy some days. Still wearing flannel jams to bed, can you believe that? Whole Memorial weekend was rainy. We stayed home, went over to see daughter/family. We were disgusting old people sleeping in. So glad you had nice time with your sister and her hubs. How did you find out about the house on beach to rent? Must have been great being there.
Better go work on my paper flowers been making from LiaGriffith. com blog. Hugs dear lady
