If you don’t know yet, I’ve become quite the football fan this year. Most Sundays find me watching every game I can. I do wish I could choose which game, but we haven’t signed up for cable tv so I am stuck with what the stations air here. Thank goodness the playoff games are all aired everywhere 😀 I spent yesterday watching first the Packers and then the COLTS win in the playoffs. The countdown is on to the Super Bowl!
And after the games were over I decided to get my giveaway put together for you. I’ve had this in the plan for awhile but like a lot of things lately, I kept putting it off for one reason or another. But it all came together finally, and though it would have been fun to do this giveaway for Christmas, or New Year’s it’s here now and I hope you like it!
The Nesting Place – the book – by Myquillyn Smith. If you haven’t read this book yet, and you love decor at all, you need to read this book. It’s a decor book but it’s almost a devotional. Seriously. You need this book in your home, on your coffee table, on your nightstand, on your bookshelf, wherever you keep your favorite books – this one needs to be there!
And from the Nate Berkus line of office supplies at Target – these golden handled scissors. I bought my first pair because I couldn’t forget those golden handles. And when I brought them home with me I tried them on fabric and they worked like a dream. They are comfortable in my hand, just the right size and weight and beautiful too.
I bought my second pair of Nate Berkus scissors a few months later because when you find something you love it’s a good idea to buy a second. And I bought the third pair when I was Christmas shopping so I’d have a pair to give away here on the blog. I hope whoever gets these loves them as much as I do. You don’t have to use them for fabric – they are intended for office scissors. But they work on fabric great so if you need fabric scissors – why not? 😀The book is chock full of decor ideas, real life, quirkiness, and inspiration. Myquillyn shares how to have a lovely home right where you are and how to focus on loving the home you live in and not constantly dreaming of the ‘next home’ or ‘someday’. I’m thrilled to give one away here.
I bought these things myself to give away on my blog. Myquillyn Smith and Nate Berkus don’t even know I exist!

We’re huge Packers fans. Aaron Rodgers is from our hometown of Chico, CA, and my daughters went to school with Aaron. Great kid! But, back on topic, I would love a copy of Nestor’s book. I read her blog and yours every day!
Thank you for the opportunity to win! I would love to have those scissors! And the book looks wonderful!
I shopped for pretty scissors several years ago, because I wanted a pair on my dresser and I wanted them to look cute, too! I love it when beauty and function meet. 🙂 This is a great combination for a giveaway on your blog! How fun!
Thanks Jill for the opportunity to participate in your giveaway. I sure would like the book & I need a new pair of scissors. Sorry, but I’m not a football fan.

Dear Jill,

We live on the Olympic Peninsula, Port Orchard, Washington. I am not a native Washingtonian, but a true American, Navy wife. So, I love reading your posts from the small town, mid-west life.
I would love to win your book and scissors. Already tried to get the book at the library with no luck, and the scissors are on my shopping list! Jill: Make sure you autograph the book and date it!!! So special 🙂
