I spent the day yesterday pricing merchandise and fluffing the shop, getting ready for our Open House. The front windows are all decked out for the holidays now and everything inside is looking pretty and fun. It was a big day, but lots of fun.
I took my camera along, and I did take some pics to share with you. It was dark outside by the time I was ready for photos though, so they are a bit grainy from the high ISO needed to get the right amount of light. But since I was tired and ready to head home I just snapped the pics anyway instead of taking the time to do what I should have to get better pics.
You can get a good idea what it looks like and I hope it will entice you to come out and see us Friday!
Our Christmas Open House is this week – Friday, November 21, 10-5 and Saturday, November 22, 9-? We’ll see how late we need to stay open on Satureday 😀
Location is Smith Merchants in Arcanum, Ohio
109 W. George St, Arcanum
Here’s what you’ll find – and take my word for it – it’s much better in person! I hope to add a few more fun things by Friday morning. Mark your calenders and come see us!
The restaurant next door will be open 7-7 so come prepared to eat breakfast or lunch, have a cup of coffee and a sweet treat, and bring your friends!
See you Friday morning!
Your shop looks great! Looks like you have a lot of cute things for sale. I hope your sale this weekend is a huge success! I’d come by if I didn’t live so far away.
Thanks Kelly! I have a few more things to get finished up and over there by Friday 🙂
Looks great, Jill. I love the ambience of the shop and I like the idea of shopping & having a restaurant nearby. Wished I lived closer than Virginia. Good luck with the open house.
That looks great! I wish I wasn’t so far from you here in Texas!
Oh it’s not fair I live so far away. I’d be there if I possibly could. You have so many things I’d so love to have Jill. You have gotten the idea of merchandising down pretty good gal.
There used to be a program on with Christopher Lowell, he called what you did with all your goodies “merchandising”. He’d do shows demonstrating how best to showcase items. He was an interior decorator, shared lots of great ideas on his shows, wish they still had him on. I’d better remember lots of them if I get into craft show on 12/13. It’s a juried show, have to submit photos and application by Nov. 30th and my time is running out. Have photos of regular items we’ll take but not the holiday stuff I’m only starting today. Have grumpy hubs out there spray painting my board signs.
I love so many things I saw on your photos, great vintage stuff. Those metal picnic hampers on high shelf and that blue/white striped pitcher on shelf in window. Seem to have thing for pitchers and picnic hampers.Had quite a collection of pitchers in KY but when we came here got rid of most of them, no place to put them up at that time.
I saw that possum belly hoosier, oh boy did my heart do a jump. I had just bottom part of hoosier with possum belly in KY. Why did I get rid of that too, too many pieces I loved had to be sacrificed. Sorry no point in keeping on mourning “things” huh?
Do you ever come across any white ironstone affordable pieces? Guess the affordable kinda cancels out items huh? Just don’t find them here, fairly tho, haven’t been to antique stores here. Guess have stayed away so I don’t get too tempted.
I will be thinking of you on Friday and Saturday hoping your sale is going so well. What will you do with money you make, buy more? Guess that’s whole idea of selling things isn’t it? I get too attached to things.
Got my holiday stencils out to make some cute things that will sell I hope (if I’m accepted for show). Have to buy a Fruita business license to be in show also. Ends up costing me $35 total with license and show entry. Not as bad as most shows here tho.
Have great week Jill, take a few deep breaths and close your eyes. You’re a seasoned seller, you will do marvelously. Still wish I could be there. Happy week
Jill. It looks so fun just like I knew it would. Christmas is magical. Enjoy this weekend. Living the dream 🙂
It looks so pretty! How fun to set it all up.
Have fun at the open house and here’s to lots of your fun finds and creations finding new homes and getting grabbed up for gifts!! Hooray!
Your stuff goes so well with the interior of the shop. 🙂
