“I need a storefront.”
“I really need a storefront.”
“Oh, how I wish I had a storefront.”
I informed. I declared. I sighed. I dreamed. I prayed.
And one day I received a text from a friend. Would I be at all interested in putting things in her storefront? Well hmmmmm, let’s see, how fast can I type ‘YES’??? And the best part? She didn’t even know I was pining away for a storefront 😀 A God-thing?!! We are going to give it a try and see where this journey takes us!
And so a new venture has begun. I’ve been a bit slow at getting things all over there but Emma has helped me a couple times and we are slowly getting things arranged and fluffed. The store is called Smiths Merchants – Vintage and Antiques. We have a facebook page and we would love it if you would go over and give us a like!
I’ve been given free reign to arrange the part of the store that has the antiques and vintage and also the windows. So. Much. Fun!
I”ve styled the windows with my stuff and stuff my friend, Angie, had there. She loves authentic antiques – the real deal! So anything of hers is truly old and antique and valuable. I have vintage, handmade, and painted furniture. I think it all mixes together very well and it’s been fun working with displays. I still have things to take and lots to do and lots of ideas – it will all come together eventually!
The storefront is gorgeous – the building is old – original wood floors, tall ceilings, lots of great character.
The store also carries fabric so I’ve added some to the front window displays.
The fabric cutting counter is original I think. It’s so awesome – I want one like it in my sewing space someday – when I have a bigger space.
So much potential – so much fun! I plan to get over again this week and work some more. Hopefully my daughter can go too cause she is great help. She’s very good at arranging things and creating displays.
We hope to put together an event/open house sometime soon – perhaps for fall or Christmas. I’ll be sharing of course!
If you live close I’d love for you to come check it out sometime! And I’ll keep you updated on the changes and new displays.
The store also has a restaurant in one section – it’s so beautifully done. I planned to share the pics of it in this post but it got too late. So I’ll share them in another post and I will do everything in my power to make it happen this week!

What a fantastic opportunity for you! The shop looks worthy of a road trip.
My husband suggested the other day that I could open a shop in our garage. I am helping a relative downsize and most of the items need to be sold. Maybe I should get you to stop by for a consultation when you are in town? 😉
Thanks Kellie! And I would love to come see what all you have and help you if I could! Aren’t you close to Columbus? I’m headed that way soon!

See prayers do get answered to those who deserve and work at it. I couldn’t be happier for you, have tears in my eyes so absolutely tickled pink for you. CONGRATS to a person who deserves every good thing that happens to her. Oh how I’d love to be there. What a breath taking opportunity and wonderful store to start out in. Love it love it. I saw so many things I loved. Even a possum belly hoosier. I had a possum belly table I used as a coffee table in our house in KY. Oh how I’d love to have that possum belly hoosier in my kitchen.
Could you find out how much that blue metal pitcher is with the utensils in it? I’d love to buy that. I have thing for pitchers. Would be great in my upper cupboard I took doors off of. If you can please find out. I’d pay for it as soon as we get paid on 27th. of Aug. Let me know ok? Pretty please?
Is that your puff with the London fabric on it? Love that fabric. Very different, so stylish, colors are so eye catching.
