Do you like the gold trend that is rapidly taking over the decor world? I have to confess I kind of like it. Kind of as in a LOT! It is a trend – it will come and go – so I’m embracing it now while it’s in 😀
This bench is another one of my garage sale finds from last week. This is what it looked like before. It had a lovely rustic patina but rustic wasn’t what I was going for. So I decided to give it a bit of a glamorous touch with some pink and gold.
AS chalk paint in Antoinette. The gold stripe is Basics brand craft paint in gold. The laurel wreath is Martha Stewart craft paint in gold and glitter gold.
I rather like the way it turned out.
This cute guy has been hanging around for a few months. I like him a lot but decided he could use a bit of spiffing up. Maybe a bit of gold would be fun for him too.
I painted him with AS chalk paint in Pure White.
Then detailed him with Basics craft paint in gold. My teenager helped with this part – she loves the detail painting.
Just a bit of distressing to make him look a bit worn. Just to offset the gold and glam a bit.
I almost kept him to add to my spring decor. But in the end I packed him up and took him to Midwest Memories. If he doesn’t sell I’ll bring him home for awhile 😀
I am all about the gold. I love it!
the gold is so much fun! Have a great week my friend!
Beautiful Jill – and yes I’m finally on board with the gold – as soon as I hung up those mirrors in my entry way, the bug bit LOL
That bench would be perfect in my home btw! ( anyone’s home I know, but especially mine 🙂
XOXOXO
Thanks Suzan! Gold is such a fun detail to use right now! If I had a passport I’d bring the bench to you 😀 😉
You little rascal, what finds you made. Love how you rehabed the cute little bench. We still have some we made in MT, they’re sturdy, can be used for so many things. WE have a bigger one in our room we sit on for shoe taking off/on. It’s painted aqua, my favorite. The benches in several sizes were one of our best sellers besides the signs.
Really love the pink bench with laurel wreath, and the bust, how cute, you made him look quite regal. Happy days
Thanks so much JaneEllen!
I like the bench. Pink, how fun.
Have a great weekend.

Thanks so much Carla!
pink where was a pink bench ? I am seeing a pastel periwinkle bench.
oh well I love it anyway.
Doesn’t show up pink on your screen Brenda?! 🙂 The AS Antoinette does lean a bit towards a lavender pink but it’s definitely a pale pink!
I love the bench you found. I reminds me of mine that I found at a thrift store and painted grey. I love cobbler benches like that.
Thanks Kelly! it was a fun one to make over 🙂 Hope your weekend was awesome!
Jill, I love your touches of gold! So pretty 🙂

Thank you so much Susan!
