I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are anticipating a very Happy New Year! I will admit I’m looking forward to a fresh New Year – what will the Lord bring to pass in 2014?!! 🙂
Today I’m going to share some absolutely delightful photos with you, of a house tour. This home belongs to one of my very best friends – she’s the closest thing I have to a sister besides the baby sister I grew up with who moved 900 miles away. I’m so blessed to have her in my life!
Before we view the pics I have to share with you that this is the friend who asked me to decorate her house for Christmas a few years ago because ‘she just wasn’t very good at it and it just wasn’t her thing’. I think you will chuckle with me when you see these photos – she did ALL the decorating you will see. ‘Not her thing’ – right. Mmmm-hmmmmm. Yeah. If it was ‘her thing’ it would be so amazing none of us would be able to stand it!
So enjoy the eye candy and leave a comment telling my friend just how much ‘her thing’ decor really is!!
LOVE the ornaments on the pussy willows! Such a cool deviation from traditional.
Yes, she wrapped the frame with yarn herself – but remember decor is ‘not her thing’ HA!
The textures and colors in her home are just delightful. I’m crushing on that basket and the cow hide rug.
So what did you think? Decor ‘not her thing’?? Or are you with me and think this home needs to be in a magazine? Maybe a magazine editor will find this post and contact me about featuring my friends home. Or maybe I will just email a few editors 😀
Happy Day-After-Christmas!
Jill

Not her thing. If my eyes could roll any further back in my head….. ;). I’ve always said if we ever build that I’m hiring her and Jodi as my decorators :). Love her style!!
I love her style too! While I love my whites in my home I love color too and she just nails it! Another thing that makes it so cool is most of her stuff is thrifted – she rarely buys anything new and if it is new it’s so deeply discounted it’s a steal! She’s amazing!
Beautiful and classy.. love it.. wish it was “not my thing”.. lol. Just Beautiful J!
I know, her house is just awesome! And you have a beautiful home too Angie, and it always looks lovely!
Is this Jessica’s house? My word – I kept thinking “That’s my favorite” and then I’d look at the next picture and think “Nope, *that’s* my favorite”. Seriously love the little king hanging and the Joy frame – everything about that frame. But my fave thing about her house is her kitchen cabs – swoon.
Had to go back and look at the pics again – also love, love, love the log & candle centerpiece on the island!
I adore her home. So glad you shared it with us… She has talent…
How fun! How interesting! How awesome!! I love that it looks like she didn’t try too hard. So great…
Looks like your friend caught the decorating bug and is quite minimal. Keeping it so simple and more is less makes her home comfortable, decorated but not a museum, she did great job. She has her own style and sticks to it, good for her. Love her tree, not too much which some of us tend to do to poor old trees. Is her tree a real tree or artificial, it looks real to me. She is a smart gal, goes with what feels right to her and her home comes off as a home and comfortable, welcoming. Love what she’s done. She’s lucky to have you as her friend also. Happy New Year
Thank you all for your kind words…you are cordially invited to stop by tomorrow to see our home in it’s natural state. And thank you, Jill- I highly recommend a photo tour for anyone who needs a little motivation to tidy up(:
I would LOVE to know what color she used in her bathroom. It’s beautiful.
