A Slip Covered Sofa
Remember my ‘Friendly Chair Makeover’? My client was thrilled with those slip covered chairs and asked me to give the same makeover to a sofa she had acquired from her Mom. It was one of my July projects.
I’m so sorry, but I don’t think I remembered to take a before pic 🙁 It’s so much more fun to see what it looked like before. Makes the ‘after’ that much better! I was in such a rush to get the project finished and back out of my house that I just went to work and totally forgot about a before pic.
My client wanted it to match the chairs so I made a cover that fits over the whole frame. There are cushions on seat and back on a wood frame. I left the bottom of the legs showing just like on the chairs. I’m hoping I get pics of these pieces in their new home 😀 (Hi Maralee – do you have pics for me yet?!)
This cover went together very well. Each one I make goes better – practice makes perfect!
And speaking of practice, it applies to editing photos too. I just downloaded Lightroom 5 – the free 30 day trial. I have Photoshop Elements but I want to be able to edit photos shot in RAW and I think Lightroom will be easier and better – when I’ve had some practice with it. A LOT of practice I think. I picked up Elements fairly quickly. Googled what I wanted to do and went with it. I’ve gotten pretty fast at what I want to do with my photos. But I wish it were a little more streamlined and faster to do some of the things that I know will be when I figure out Lightroom. But somehow tonight I lost a bunch of pics. I imported them to Lightroom and now a bunch of them are not in the original folder on my computer! What is up with that? Not all of them are gone that I imported but quite a few. Including the ones in this post. I exported them back but they didn’t go back as big of files as before. No exactly happy about that but I will push on and try to learn this thing! Any tips you might have for me would be very much appreciated!!!
