Monday morning again. How do you view Mondays? Do you love them? Dislike them? Not care? I go back and forth. As a school girl I didn’t love them at all. It meant another long week of school stretched ahead. In the summer I didn’t think much about liking or disliking, it was just another vacation day!
As a young wife I didn’t love Mondays because it meant my husband went back to work after being home for the weekend, the laundry had to be done, and the whole week stretched out – 5 whole days till another weekend. Same story as a young Mom. Monday morning meant hubby headed off to work and I was left to take care of babies and toddlers on my own after a weekend of him around to help out.
These days I rather like Mondays. It’s a fresh new work week. So many possibilities of things that can be accomplished, created, and finished. Some weeks I get the most project work done on Monday. Usually there is nowhere we have to go on a Monday. No appointments, no plans, nothing but catching up around the house and whatever I want to get accomplished.
I love my weekends with my hubby home. I don’t love seeing him head out for work on Monday, but since that is the way life goes around here, I choose to embrace Monday morning, enjoy my coffee, the quiet house, and relish the thought that a new work week has so many possibilities. And as fast as time goes these days the thought of a loooong five days till another weekend never even enters my mind.
What are you doing this Monday? Do you dread the week or do you look forward to all the possibilities the week holds?
Have a wonderful day!

I don’t mind Mondays. They can seem busy. There are always things that need picked up and laundry to start in on again, but yep, it’s a new week with planning and possibilities. I do enjoy the weekends, but Mondays always get here too, and then it’s the start to the next weekend! 🙂
Sometimes it just feels good to get to Monday to catch up on everything!
I love the weekends but I’m also a sucker for the routine of the week. This is the last day before holidays and I can hardly wait for our summer routine of; splashpads, picnics and lots of gardening.
I pretty much like every day. Love the weekends but love the ‘routine’ of the week – loose as my ‘routine’ is!
Like you, I look forward to starting the week, and all the possibilities each one holds. What will I get done this week? More often than not, I don’t get nearly as much done as I would like or had planned, but hey, God willing, there’s always next week! 🙂 I love your brick wall peeking through the plaster. Is that plaster? I’m going to have to jump into your blog and see if I can find more details. Great pictures, as always. Have a wonderful week Jill!

I never get as much done as I plan – and that seems to get worse as I get older! Yes, that is brick peeking through the plaster. I have just a few spots like that in my kitchen. I wish I could tell you to go search my site but my search button wasn’t working so I took it down. I cannot figure out how to make it work right and I’ve noticed that a lot of blogs search buttons are not working.
I love Mondays … my favorite day of the week. Clean slate. New beginnings. This Monday is especially great for me. I spent a week cleaning house, running errands and getting ready for my sister’s visit. Two days after her arrival I got sick (bronchitis/sinus infection) … and that lasted for another week – actually, I am still sick, but getting better. Last week was spent as an advisor at the Junior Firefighters’ Academy Camp. WOW – working with 21 kids, ages 9-13 years old sure puts it all into perspective – and tired me out! So much energy. Too much energy. So, today, I’m starting my Monday the right way … with renewed life and lottsa get-up-and-go. Lets hope it lasts!
Yay for great Mondays! Hope you are getting lots done this week!
I don’t think too much about it being Monday. My routine is basically the same as every other day — no husband, grown kids and no job to go to. I spend every day doing what my body feels like unless I actually have an appointment for something which is rare. My dogs brighten every moment of my life and are so much fun and joy. For those of you with husbands going back to work or kids, please relax and enjoy these times because time goes by really fast. Blessings
You are right, time goes SO fast. I try to remind myself often to enjoy the stage I’m in at the moment.
I like Mondays- A fresh start to a new week with unlimited potential! I am just playing catch up today after being gone for 11 days…laundry and final unpacking to do, too. xo Diana
I think it’s funny how my view of Monday has changed. I remember one of my friends saying her Mom loved Mondays. I could not imagine. But now 20 years later I totally get it!
I’m trying to learn to embrace Monday’s too Jill! I’ve felt all the same emotions about it as you have but I guess in this season of life I’m just accepting it and trying to change how I view it. I loved this post! 🙂

Thanks Vanessa! Monday’s are so different now than when I was a teenager or a young mom!
