Not so very long ago I made this yummy pizza. My Teenager is getting quite proficient in the kitchen – mostly when it is HER idea – but when I insist she will make the things I tell her to. She mixes up a mean pizza crust, and does an amazing job with topping the pizza too.
While working with foods that needed some spices I decided I was fed up with the mess my spice cupboard was in so I cleaned it out. That’s how I roll – I let it go, turning a blind eye, till I can’t take it anymore and I just have to clean it. Why bother if it doesn’t need it right? Problem is it seems like most things in my house need it constantly! Am I the only one with that issue?
While I was on a bit of an organizing kick I decided to deal with the stack of recipes I had somehow managed to collect. Recipe cards, printed recipes, bits of paper, it was a hodge-podge mess. But I didn’t want to throw any of it away ’cause after all I kept them for a reason at some time or another. If I threw any away that would be the exact one I needed just a few days later. It’s just the way it always goes.
I happened to remember I had an empty 3-ring binder that had been bouncing around without a home. I had even considered putting it in the goodwill pile. But I still had it, amazingly enough, and I put it to use. 3-hole punched all the papers and now they are at least in a book, neatly corralled, even though they are in no particular order.
The pizza dough makes good breadsticks too. Add some cheese for really good breadsticks!
I like to work in the kitchen and cook, but there is always something I like MORE than cooking it seems! I’d rather sew, or craft, or decorate, or design, or shop! But when I get into it I really do enjoy cooking and when I do I like to do several things.
I made this bread the same day we made the pizza – I think 😉 The recipe for this delicious stuff is on my sister’s blog.
It looked so good and the recipe was so easy to print off so I had to make it. And it was just as yummy as it looked. You should go over and print the recipe for yourself and make some!
I also made some salad dressing for a salad I was making for the next day.
I need to make this salad again and take some beauty shots for you and share the recipe! It’s one of the best 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend 😀

Now I just ate dinner, but your pics are making me hungry again! That pizza, bread and salad dressing all look so good. I love homemade salad dressing and I could eat bread every day! I didn’t know your sister had a blog. I’ll have to go check it out! Then, I can see the recipe for that delicious looking bread. Bread and desserts are my weakness.
🙂 It was all yummy – we just made pizza again last night – I had some fresh basil in my herb garden I used on one along with some tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. it was scrumptious!
That pizza looks good- how nice that you can force…er…ask your daughter to help! I am the same way. My pantry is now to the point where I need to reorganize it again..UGH- seems I just did it and now it is a mess again. Hope you have a wonderful weekend- xo Diana
Thanks Diana! I wish organization and cleaning lasted longer! I want to scrub and organize and have it stay that way for – oh, at least a year!! You have a great weekend too!
Ok, YUM. I had to go print it off and put it on my list to try. That looks amazing! You should share your pizza dough recipe too. I’d like to try it!
I usually use Pioneer Woman’s pizza dough recipe but I think this one was one Emma found on Pinterest. I’ll have to see if she remembers and still has the recipe.
Those breadsticks look so yummy! Love all the photos~you take awesome pictures.
They were yummy! And I love taking pics since I have learned to shoot in manual!
Do you remember those cute little games that are for toddlers? – the one where if they pop the little gopher head with a little hammer it goes down into its hole & then another one pops up? – they hit that one & another pops up over here, then there… I feel like that is my house, well, my LIFE most of the time. I get one area cleaned out only to see another, and another, and another… the same with attitude & relationship issues with the children. Grace enough for the day, thank YOU Lord!
I’m not sure if I ever saw that game! But I can sure relate! It’s never ending – but so right about God giving us grace for the day!
Oh yes! Please post the salad. I am going to a little farm today to pick up fresh greens and I need inspiration 🙂
I will have to get the stuff on my grocery list so I can make it soon and have pics to post with it!
You are good at everything you do, aren’t you? What delicious yummy creations you made. I am glad you take breaks from your true love of sewing and crafting to make delicious meals made with love.
Amy I guess I am good at what I LIKE to do! If I put my mind to it, it usually happens. Just how God made me though – not anything I’ve done myself. I sort of like a challenge too – if someone says it can’t be done, watch out I’ll probably find a way to do it – LOL! not always a good thing really!
Oh I think we’d get along beautifully, Jill! I’m the same as you…seems like everything around here is always in need of attention! And like you, there are so many things I’d rather do than cook or bake, but once I get in there and get started, I really do love it and enjoy creating in the kitchen. I think the problem is that there just aren’t enough hours in the day, don’t you? 🙂
Debbie
You said it Debbie – not enough hours in the day – Just have to do the ‘next thing’ as a friend once said. Don’t focus on the whole pile of to-do’s just ‘the next thing’. Sound advice and I’ve been repeating it to myself a lot lately!
