If you follow me on facebook you know that this past weekend I went to garage sales in my little hometown village. Thursday morning my teenager and I headed out before 8. I unloaded my car 3 times throughout the day. I went back out mid-morning on Friday and brought home another 3/4 of a carload. And Saturday afternoon I had to go once more to a huge sale I’d been to twice before just to check one more time!
I shared some pics on facebook over the weekend and as I was editing to share them here I remembered that I had some flea market finds from Springfield that I haven’t shown you yet. So lets get to those first and I’ll share my garage sale loot later this week 😀
I didn’t buy much – I was too busy at my own booth, but I did sally forth a couple different times to see what little treasures I might find.
Most of my loot came from my friends booth. Kara, Darcy, and Anne had a wonderful set-up. Most of the stuff in this pic is from them. Linen napkins, grommets, Sajou ribbon, a vintage polka dot cummberbund, vintage dotted fabric, and a couple other odds and ends. You can see some pics I took of their booth here.
Vintage mason jar lids and number tags just for fun.
This galvanized jar was from our neighbors at the flea. I love metal and the cute tag is so fun. It now sits on my kitchen counter to collect all the loose change.
Old leather wallet/planner of some sort.
I’m thinking it would be fun to make a pattern from this and reproduce it in some fun fabrics! What do you think?
The ribbon and fabric will no doubt find themselves used in some project in the next few months. The small round number tags I bought with a certain project in mind, the others just to have on hand when inspiration strikes. The pillow was used in a photo shoot I did of my dining room nook over the weekend. I am loving its addition to my decor.
Come back tomorrow – I have a very lovely and amazing lady to introduce you to if you don’t know her, and if you do know her I will just reinforce in your mind how amazing she is – because if you already know her you KNOW she is amazing! I’m about to tell you a bit about just HOW amazing she is! 😀 So make sure to come back over bright and early.

You found some great things, Jill. I think using that old wallet/planner as a pattern would make great fabric offerings! LOVE your “stuff”. xo Diana
Thanks Diana – I really want to design something from that old leather piece!
All those yard sales would be great and these things look fun!
Thanks Bernideen – I’m going to have fun with my loot 😀
Love to see another vintage, mason jar addict C:
😀 I used to look at them and wonder why people bought them. Now that they are harder to find for cheap I have decided I need a collection of them! LOL!
Love the numbers and that polka dot cumberband. So cute!
I’m thinking that cumberbund just might make a cute camera strap 🙂
You really hit the jackpot with all of your great finds! The fabric and accessories no doubt will be used in your many sewing projects. I bet that was a fun day to be selling stuff and buying stuff from each other.
We had a great day Kelly! Thanks so much for coming by and checking out my finds!
I love all your finds. Keep sharing.
Thanks Pam – I will cause I’ve got quite a few more 😉
Jill – Great finds! What are you going to do with those cute polka dot fabrics? I’m loving polka dots right now. Having a pillow made for a client….white linen with sky blue polka dots.
Happy Monday!
Loi
Hi Loi – I love polka dots too. They seem so timeless – they never really go out of style 🙂 I’m not sure what I’m going to do with these pieces but I knew I couldn’t leave them there! Your pillow sounds great LOVE linen!
Oh great finds! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Rachel! More finds coming up soon 🙂
I’ve never seen a galvanized jar like that…so cool! And I love those little number tags. Sounds like you found some great treasures!
There was so much stuff there Jennifer – I could have spent way more than I made in my own booth!! LOL!
I love the number tags and the tin for coins! Awesome finds!
Thanks!
Love that coin tin & the idea of making a pattern from that leather pouch!
Thanks Jenni – I need to find some time to work with that leather thing – it looks like it could be really fun.
I just love the little tags and the typewriter keys or whatever, and all the other little metal things, like the galvanized coin keeper. You got it done, Jill! Now I have to see what else you’ve been up to!

I am really liking the number things too – not exactly sure what the round numbers were but they are sure cute!
I want to go shopping with you…and then I want to come back to your house and have a proper sewing lesson…that would be my dream day with you 🙂
Amy that would be so fun – and you are so sweet! I think you already know how to sew quite well but it would be fun to sew together and trade tips and answer questions!
Great finds. I hope I am as lucky in when I get to the few flea markets of the summer.
Thanks Alaina – and have fun at the markets this summer 🙂
