Whew. What a weekend. I have to admit it was rather fun being a vendor at the Springfield flea instead of just a shopper! Getting in early by just waiving a parking pass. Seeing the first of the shoppers wind their way through the booths. Seeing all the great stuff displayed by so many wonderful vendors. Just being in on the behind-the-scenes, learning a bit more about the ins and outs of a pop-up shop. Spending time with my friend who set up shop with me. She’s the sweetest thing and it has been so fun working with her. We set up together at The Brick Farmhouse Event in 2011. We wanted to do Springfield last year but neither May nor September worked for me. And now here we are a year later with one Springfield show under our belts!
I thought I’d share some of the photos I took – I don’t have the energy to edit them so here they are – straight from the camera!
My front porch before loading.
My dining room right before loading. Yes, it was driving me absolutely batty. As soon as all was loaded I got the sweeper out and got my living room and dining room looking like the home I usually live in. Of course there is stuff piled in the dining room again but nowhere near like this! Today I CLEAN!
Back of my friends minivan – so thankful for friends who offer to help out by letting me use their vehicle!!
Our booth on Thursday night as we were getting about done for the evening. We put sides on the tent and closed it all in for the night and finished fluffing early Friday morning.
The setting sun made things pretty bright Thurs. eve.The Union Jack pillow was one of the first things to sell Friday. The cute, kitschy, pink one came home with me – it will soon be listed on etsy 🙂
Friday Morning – it was foggy – so thick you could feel it.
The fog makes everything look a bit hazy – and remember I didn’t feel like editing!
See how foggy? It was brutal driving over. There was a 20 car pile-up on the interstate right before the exit for the flea about an hour after I arrived. Not good 🙁
And I have to include the pics I took of my friends Kara, Darcy, and Anne’s booth. It was great. They were in one of the Vintage Marketplace big tents – and I’m so excited to say that our booth will be one of these come September!!!!!!
One of those darling pillows came home with me. They were made as a surprise for Darcy for her to sell to help fund their upcoming adoption. Knowing that I had to buy since I loved it anyway. I have a soft spot for adoption – but that is another story – one I need to share sometime soon.
I love their burlap wrapped boxwood. Wishing I had bought some. And that’s it. I wish I had taken my camera on Saturday and walked around getting photos of more of the booths. It was just so amazing all the great stuff in one place. But I was tired and didn’t feel like messing with it. Never again will I wonder why some other blogger didn’t make a point to get more photos! LOL!

Before I close tonight I have to say here that besides my fantastic friend Marcy who shared my booth and helped out so much, my husband came through with flying colors! Again. I love that man so much. He has had such a huge work load this year and has been so tired and stressed, but he took the day off work on Thursday to help me pack, drove a load over, and helped us get our tents up and all the stuff unloaded. Then he came back on Saturday evening to load and take down tents. And helped me unload at home, find places to stash the leftovers, and swept the vehicles. Thanks Sweetheart, you are AWESOME 😉
And a huge thank you to my Mom for taking care of FIVE kids! My niece and nephew from Kansas arrived on Thursday evening and Mom had all of them at her house on Friday and Saturday. My girls were so excited to be with their cousins again – thanks Mom!

Now you can rest! I hope you sold a lot. Everything looked very interesting and retro!
I have been bernideen 🙂 Cleaning my house and catching up on computer stuff in between naps 😀
I hope the sale was a success for you! I’m only 15-20 minutes away from the Flea and have never been there! Going to have to try to make it over in September. Glad you had great weather – other than the fog!
Thanks Jenni, it was a success in a lot of ways. You really should go sometime – plan on September and come see us in The Vintage Marketplace!

Thanks Rachel, it went very well, we are headed back in the fall – this time in the big tents of the Vintage Marketplace! And I did come home with some fun stuff but I have an a/c unit to buy so I kept myself in check a bit!
it was fun! glad you got to set up……I have been cleaning and putting winter clothes away…after a flea it always makes me want to fluff!!!
I love my trophy cup basket! I want to go see that shop too in Pickerington– that is the cutest town name!!
xo
It was fun being just across the way from you gals Kara! Are you doing the Vintage Marketplace in September?
Wow! Your car and friend’s car was loaded up! Glad you had some fast sales. I hope your cars were much lighter when the show concluded. You had some fabulous things for sale…the CREATE sign is FABULOUS! The chandelier…made my heart skip a beat.
I just love seeing your booth and all the others spaces and treasures as well. That big booth is huge! Stocking that will be like stocking an entire store, but I know you will have cool stuff galore to fill it with come September. Thanks for sharing the sights with us!
Liz
Thanks Liz – yes the booth is huge! We are probably going to ask a friend to help us out – but I really dislike small spaces that are hard to navigate so I am really excited about this!
I love all the photos, even unedited! The fog gives some of them a really neat look. Your booth looks awesome! Looks like lots of treasures and beautiful stuff in all the booths. Glad you had a great time.
And I think too, there is something fun about seeing the behind-the-scenes. 🙂
Sometimes it is fun to see the unedited photos 🙂
