Before Easter a friend asked if I could make a couple banners for her that said ‘He is Risen’. Burlap or Ribbon perhaps. I didn’t have any burlap and didn’t really have any ribbon that was screaming “write something one me!”
But I did have some drop cloth scraps and they did seem to be begging to have something printed on them.
So I frayed the edges, printed the words on printer paper, held the paper and drop cloth scrap up to a window, traced the words onto the scraps, painted one, used a sharpie on the other, and then added some bling to one.
The one I painted I also folded and pressed on each side and added a pearl topped hat pin on each side for her to attach it to her wreath.
I haven’t seen how she used them – was thinking I should have taken the time to run over and snap some pics.
It was really quick and easy to make. Don’t throw out all those drop cloth scraps, you can use them for all kinds of fun stuff! For another fun way to use drop cloth scraps go see what my friend Daniela did with hers. And while you are there, browse her blog, Frugal Ain’t Cheap. What have you made with drop cloths??
