This evening as I’ve reflected on the day we call ‘Good Friday’ this song keeps coming to mind.
My Savior First of All
When my lifework is ended, and I cross the swelling tide,
When the bright and glorious morning I shall see;
I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side,
And His smile will be the first to welcome me.
Refrain:
I shall know Him, I shall know Him,
And redeemed by His side I shall stand,
I shall know Him, I shall know Him,
By the print of the nails in His hand.
Oh, the soul-thrilling rapture when I view His blessed face,
And the luster of His kindly beaming eye;
How my full heart will praise Him for the mercy, love and grace,
That prepare for me a mansion in the sky.
Oh, the dear ones in glory, how they beckon me to come,
And our parting at the river I recall;
To the sweet vales of Eden they will sing my welcome home;
But I long to meet my Savior first of all.
Through the gates to the city in a robe of spotless white,
He will lead me where no tears will ever fall;
In the glad song of ages I shall mingle with delight;
But I long to meet my Savior first of all.
Over 2000 years ago my Savior walked up Calvary’s hill and willingly laid down His life for me. Too amazing to totally comprehend till I meet Him face to face, His unending love brings tears to my eyes and praise to my lips.
This Resurrection Day I want to sing with arms raised high, anticipating the day I will dance before Him, throw my crown at His feet, and fall in adoration before Him.
Amen, Jill. A beautiful song and a beautiful person putting her heart right here on her blog. Easter blessings to you and your sweet family- xox Diana
Thanks Diana, I hope I always show Jesus Christ to those around me. I must admit there are times when I let my humanness come through though 🙁
Beautifully written, Jill. With my whole heart, I agree. Happy Easter!

Blessings to you and your family this Easter Cindy!
Love that song and all the hope there is in it. So hard to comprehend the reality of looking into the face of the One who died for me. Looking forward to hearing the grand and glorious story of His resurrection tomorrow. Let our hearts praise Him forever.
Amen! What a day that will be!
Love this message!
Made these words from the song “I Can Only Imagine” come to mind too-
Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing ‘Hallelujah!’? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine! Yeah! I can only imagine!
What a Savior and salvation!
I know, I thought of that song too when I was writing the last of the post!
Amen!
