I sometimes think I don’t know when a good thing turns into TOO MUCH of a good thing.
I had fun making the Painted Egg Bunting. And my 7 and 9-year-old girls had fun with that one too. It was a good thing.
I was having fun with egg-shaped banners so I pulled out some more fabric and kept making banners.
Have your read the book The Golden Grinder? Lord Gur didn’t know how to make a good thing stop! Maybe I’m a little like that sometimes?? 🙂
Anyway I copied off a couple different sizes of egg patterns, grabbed some fabric from my Stacks of Fabric and started creating.
I stitched and created and pretended I didn’t have anything else to do – like laundry, cleaning, or cooking. Blithely sewing a fine seam – no strawberries and cream though – not the right season.
And then I proceeded to get creative with places to hang each egg banner. If I continue we will soon have an egg banner maze to wade through.
Nothing was sacred in my quest of banner making. This vintage trim was quite gleefully pulled from the bedding it had adorned for years. It’s happier with a new life anyhow I am sure.
Part of the vintage bedspread the trim came from was roped into becoming one of the eggs in this banner. It’s quite happy with its new life too.
Do you sometimes get carried away in a creating frenzy? Do you need to tell yourself to ‘Stop and Stay’ as Lord Gur needed someone to tell the magic grinder?
There is one more set of fabric eggs cut out and waiting by the sewing machine to be transformed into a banner. I know those eggs are wondering if the creating frenzy is going to fade before they get their chance to shine.
Happy Thursday and Happy Creating!

Nah- You can never have too much of a good thing when it is something fun like this. Love ALL your sweet eggy banners- xo Diana
THanks Diana!
How fun! I would have a very hard time choosing a favorite!
Why stop as long as you’re having fun and haven’t run out of supplies?!
True! I still have one to sew up and I actually have one I forgot to put in this post! It’s on etsy if you want to check it out – it’s all linen with vintage lace and it’s my fav!
Oh no…you can never have too many cute egg banners! But I know the feeling…I was so happy with how a chair that I reupholstered in some drop cloth turned out, that I made some curtains with more drop cloth, dyed in a really pretty purple color. Then I started to recover a stool with some more drop cloth, this time stamped with a pattern I had stamped on the walls….my daughter said “mom, it’s getting to be a little much with the drop cloth stuff….” ha ha. That’s when I knew I had gone too far! Have a great day!

🙂 Thanks Debbie! I just listed them all in my etsy shop so we will see if I have any left or if I will forever have Easter egg banners all over my house! LOL!
I like the tan/cream/grey one best!! Awesomeness!
Thank you Belle! Hope you and everyone in your family is well now!
Thank goodness you haven’t stopped. These are lovely. What a beautiful simple festive touch (or I should say touches) to your lovely home.
Thanks Amy! I actually forgot to post one!!! They are all listed on etsy now and the one I forgot is on there too. It’s my favorite – linen with vintage lace embellishments. Check it out if you have time!
Those are DARLING! I think that I like the neutral one the best…that dotted swiss chenille gets me every time! xo
I love that dotted swiss chenille too Kimberly. I have some more of the fabric – what should I make with it?
So cute, love the chenille!
Blessings,
Cindy
Thank you Cindy! I love that fabric too – trying to decide what else to use it for!
