A couple of weeks ago I blogged about the camera strap giveaway Breida with b. was doing. It was a fun new style of giveaway for me – her hubby {she calls him Mr. Social Media} set it all up on facebook. It was super easy to enter and was just fun to see how it worked using facebook. Kind of made me wish they lived next door so I could pick his brain a little about social media! Of course, living next door to Breida would be oh so delightful for a number of reasons – she’s a great bloggy friend so I’m sure she would be a great IRL friend too 🙂
The giveaway was for a camera strap or strap cover. The winner could totally customize exactly what they wanted or just let me create something.
When Breida emailed me the name of the winner I thought the name sounded familiar but didn’t place it immediately. I emailed her and among other questions I asked if she had a blog. I actually gave a little scream when I saw her blog name in her reply! I’ve read and linked up at Savvy Southern Style for a while now! No wonder her name sounded familiar! It was just so fun to have someone I ‘knew’ win!
It was also a little more pressure to do a really great job and try to figure out exactly what she might like too, since she is a blogger I really admire and want to meet in-real-life someday. So I browsed her blog. I asked her questions. She didn’t have any major preferences so I asked her favorite number. And then her favorite colors. She probably got tired of me sending all those emails because, of course, I didn’t think of all the questions at the same time. ‘Cause that would be way too organized. Ha!
I had already picked the fabric and ribbons to work with when I asked for her favorite colors. I was rather excited when her list came back with red, charcoal, and linen on it!! Score!! The number 22 I stamped with my Cavallini number stamps and black paint.
I was happy with it when I was finished. Kim said she liked it when it arrived and that it was so comfortable on her neck. So I am really happy with it 🙂
Do you need an update for your camera strap? I can custom make covers for any strap you already have or you can check out my camera straps in my Etsy Shop!
Very cute! Of course, I highly doubt that you would ever come up with one that wasn’t!
Well, to be honest I did another idea for this one first and didn’t love how it turned out. I may offer it for sale sometime but it just didn’t suit me for Kim!
I love this camera strap, Jill! It looks perfect for Kim! Congratulations to her….she is an amazing photographer and totally deserves it!
blessings,
karianne
Thanks Karianne! I keep thinking I should send you a new one – I’ve been using different drop cloths and like them better than what I had when I made yours, mine, and a couple others.
How wonderful that your giveaway went to someone who’s blog you have admired and followed. I can see why Kim was happy. That camera strap is perfect.
🙂 I still need to make you some leggings for your adorable daughter amy!!
Really cute camera strap. I’m heading to your Etsy right now! I’m also intrigued by the giveaway on FB…
Thank you Ann 🙂 If you ever have extra grain sacks you want to sell let me know – I think it would be really cool to make some camera straps out of grain sacks.
Your camera strap you made is so nice, and happy it went to someone you know and like. Love grain sacks, and love the number on it it. Thanks for stopping by and letting me know you and hubs like dour wooden window repairs. I let hubs know also!
Thanks Cathy 🙂
