Ruffled Leggings are such a fun addition to a little girls wardrobe. My girls wear them year round – they start out with them ankle length in the fall and wear them all winter. Then they continue wearing them into the spring and on through the summer – at a crop length as the girls stretch up taller! I’ve made several pairs of these for quite a few little girls this fall, and I have more to make. More fabric is shipping tomorrow – if you want light pink I will have plenty!
These 3 pairs shipped out last week to Jami of Freckled Laundry. Her little girl is going to look darling in them! These 3 fabrics are some of my favs. Navy and white, grey and white and pink and red. The red/pink is so hard to photograph and get the colors to show up properly. Just trust me that it is beautiful.
This one shows the red/pink a little better.
Jami also requested a scarf out of the white/navy fabric. So I whipped one up. The Teenager modeled it for me 🙂
I’m anxious for Jami to get the scarf and let me know if this was what she had in mind.
While I was at it I made myself on out of the grey/white.
If nothing else they are a cute addition to a scarf collection 😉
And did you notice those fun letters under the scarves in the picture above? Can you guess what that says?!!
Last week I headed to Tipp City to get some more ASCP colors. The stockist there has a booth set up in an antique shop, and along with here great display of chalk paint she has some fun vintage finds and cool stuff painted with ASCP. And I spotted her great supply of vintage letters from an old sign. I was so excited as I started pulling them out and discovered she had all the letters I needed! Needing 3 ‘E’s’ and 2 ‘A’s’ and 2 ‘S’s’ I was just SO happy she had them all 🙂 I cleaned her out of E’s and A’s. Now I have a really cool sign for my business. For $36. Travis says he can build me a sign board for them. I say he can focus on other projects I want done (like the woodwork in my living room) and I’ll take care of this myself 😉
I will use this for my sign when I do events. What do you think? Good buy for a business sign?
I LOVE THOSE LEGGINGS!! How do you decide on what size to make something? Like, if I wanted to order a pair for my girl? Do you do measurements or go by size or ?
They’re adorable!
breida
Breida, when I do a custom order I get the waist measurement and the inseam measurement and go from there. If you have a pair of leggings that fits well you can measure the inseam of those and the waist of those. To measure the waist, lay the leggings flat, don’t stretch the elastic out at all, and measure across the top of the waist. That will be half the waist measurement 🙂 That’s my technique! I’m sure you could make these yourself they are so easy but I’d be delighted to make you some too! Just let me know if you want some!
Those vintage sign letters are awesome! Makes me swoon!
Aren’t they the best!?! I love that they are different from anything else I’ve ever seen. And they are easy to store, easy to read, just a lot of fun! Thanks, Yelle, for all your sweet comments, I so appreciate that you come back to my blog 🙂
Those leggings are adorable. The scarves are great! The letters spelling out Sew a fine seam…pure perfection.
Thanks Amy! And hey, I still need to know what color you little darling wants her leggings to be!! And do I have measurements? I can’t even remember – sigh – I’m not getting any younger!!
Your girls are so lucky to have such a talented sewing Momma!
Ahh Jen, thanks so much for thinking my girls are lucky to have a sewing momma! They don’t always agree with that right now but hopefully someday they will see the benefit of it!!!
You know everyone is going to want a sign like that! Such a great idea!
🙂 They can get their own letters and make a sign – as long as they don’t need an e or an a – I got them all 🙂
I love your sign!! It fits your look so well! Cartwheels and cheers for sure!
Thanks! I was really pumped when I figured out all the letters were there and it would be a really cool sign for not much $$ really!
Love the look and feel of your blog! Super cute ruffles!! These are so FUN!
