Summer. July. Sun. Hot.
What to do when the weather gets hot?
Stay in the a/c? Go swimming? Eat ice cream? Buy Popsicles?
Eat Ice Cold Watermelon!
Slow, lazy summer days drift into long lovely evenings. Fireflies light up the back yard early in the season and as the season waxes long the crickets begin their song.
Innocent childhood, nary a care in the world, running free and happy.
Mischief just below the surface just waiting for the perfect moment to dance out of hiding!
Wonderful, glorious, summertime!
Family. Fun. Laughter. Sharing. Relaxing.
And where there is family and friends there is always food 🙂 Watermelon makes a cool summer treat.
Oh the sticky sweet juice that runs down your chin, to be wiped off with a swipe of your sleeve. (or a napkin if Mom is quick enough!)
After all a pretty pink summer dress is just asking to have watermelon juice on it right?
A little salt goes a long way. As long as it hasn’t lost its saltiness!
What does your summer days and evenings consist of? Do you find time to be lazy and enjoy some time to relax?
What are some of your favorite summer snacks?
Actually, watermelon is probably my favorite summertime treat, I buy one a week (at least)! I always put salt on it when I was growing up. I’m always so disappointed when the season ends. Awesome photos of those darling girls! 🙂
Don’t know how you ever say “no” to B’s eyes and L’s freckles! They are super adorable. I know I don’t live with them 🙂 My dad always put salt on his watermelon – yuck-o! I like mine sweet, thankyouverymuch. Unfortunately I’ve been in cleaning/decluttering mode all day and by the time the evening comes around I’m crashed. Need to plan some lazy evenings – how sad is that? Isn’t the point that it isn’t planned? With us starting school in May, it doesn’t seem like summer I guess.
I am eating up the pictures! Fun, fun to see them!
Renae and I have been eating watermelon! Delicious! We are the main two lovers of watermelon in our household!
Our summer has felt busy this year. I wouldn’t mind a wee bit more lazy in it!
Love your pictures…
And these are some of the reasons why I love summer so much.
Watermelons, picnics, family bonding.
The pics turned out great! So glad you got that closeup of the juice dripping off the sweet little chin. The teenager must have been back inside with her ipod when the camera came out. Good memories of a great evening.
What a beautifully written post, made even more beautiful by pictures of your girls. Lovely.
love it!! hmmmm I need to go get some more watermelon—low calorie and healthy & YUM!!!
