Only in Ohio can you have temps nearing 100 degrees one day and lows dipping near 50 the next! Today is gorgeous, sky so blue it glistens, breezes cool and refreshing, sunshine warm and comforting. A windows-wide-open day! Sunshine warm enough that the cool breeze doesn’t make me cold, breeze cool enough the sun doesn’t make me hot. (although these days it takes a lot of sun and humidity to make me too hot!) Speaking of humidity, we’ve hardly had any at all this year. And that is not normal for Ohio! I don’t think I’d ever miss the humidity if it decided to never come around again.
These photos really have nothing to do with Blue skies, Cool Breezes, and Warm Sunshine, except for maybe the fact that this stack of nests under a cloche is part of my summer decor. And it is sitting on a table in my window-filled nook with the cool breeze and warm sunshine coming through the open windows!
I would love to take a quilt and pillow outside today and just soak up the loveliness of the day. Unfortunately I am already behind today. Around 3:30am I was awakened by The Teenager. She had complained off and on about her ear hurting – I’m diagnosing it as swimmer’s ear. I had tried to get her to let me put some garlic oil in it several times earlier but she decided to wait till the middle of the night when it was hurting too much to put up with any longer. Then she finally, reluctantly, let me try the home remedies I knew to try. (I am extra thankful for the windows-wide-open weather to rid my house of the smell of garlic and onion!!)
Since we had no Advil, Aspirin, Tylenol, etc., in the house I headed to Kroger at 4am to buy a bottle of pain killers. I headed back to bed about 4:40. And didn’t wake up till almost 10am.
Therefore I don’t have the bridesmaid dress hemmed yet and I don’t have any of the Roman shades made yet either. And we are supposed to have an orthodontist appointment and piano lessons today. Going to be hectic 🙂
But hey, I blogged!! At least I gave all of you something to read! Hope you are enjoying your day, wherever you live, and whatever your weather!
well i blogged yesterday – and my kids had “lunch” at 2:15. . . hmmmm. i need to work on that. sorry you were up in the middle of the night!

I no longer feel any guilt for not blogging when there are more pressing things at hand. Real life is so much more important, although I miss reading what friends are up to when I stay off the internet. I heard you’re busy making shades for Darcy- you sure do stay busy, girl! glad your home remedy worked- it’s new info for me. I’ve been enjoying the past few days of great weather, but Thursday’s prediction for the 90’s has me contemplating staying in with the AC! Stay cool. 🙂 Sue
Never a dull moment in the life of being a mom. I hope your daughter’s ear is feeling much better and that everyone has a peaceful night’s sleep…especially after the craziness that awaits you for the day. AND, I adore that NEST sign 🙂
Aw, hate that E is feeling bad and really hate that you had to go to the store at 4am. Hate when they are too stubborn until it’s too late. The sky & weather sure are beautiful today!
I’ve heard of another home remedy for swimmer’s ear that apparently works – pour a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol into the lid from the bottle (less than a capful) then poor it into the ear. Supposedly it evaporates more quickly than water and will take some the water out with it. (But I’ve never had to the need to try this….)
