My post about the Camera Strap I made for a friend was very well received! I mailed one yesterday to a blogger and have another to mail today! YAY! And I have a couple more in process.
I linked my post on the Camera Strap up to several link parties on other great blogs out there. You can find the list of blogs I linked to at the bottom of the post.
Would you like to see the Camera strap cover I made for Breida with a b.?? I’m loving it so much I may make myself one! But with a j. of course!
Breida wanted a cover for the strap she has for her camera. She didn’t think she would like the rings clanking on her camera. My husband totally agrees with her on that. I like the look of the rings but I might get tired of the clanking too. But I’m gonna try it! Nothing wrong with having more than one camera strap anyway, right? Is there such a thing as too many accessories? (please don’t remind me of my declutter posts from just a couple weeks ago!)
This one needed to be narrower than the other straps I made. And I forgot how hard it would be to finish the ends AFTER it was assembled. It was impossible to machine top stitch those ends. So I used top stitching thread and stitched it by hand. I rather like the way it turned out. I also love the lower case letter. I made the stencil by printing out a b and cutting it out with the great Xacto knife my brother gave me several years ago for Christmas. The dot I made by using a hole punch and punching several times around the first hole to make it a little bigger and not quite perfect.
So what do you think? Is Breida going to like it??? She told me to feel free to get creative. And she liked the red/cream ribbon I used on my latest slip cover project. I didn’t have any of that ribbon left but I found this one in my stash and thought it would be a good stand in. I also read through Breida’s blog to get a feel for who she is and what she likes. I love the design part of creating a sewing project.

Love it – love the red & cream and the handstitched top stitching! Also the lower case b. Love the whole thing.
I love this one! And what I love the most is that you read through her blog to get to know her so you could make something that was “her”. So thoughtful.

Very cute, you do such a nice job!
Jill, You sure did a great job on this strap and I’m sure Breida will love it. Do you have any plans to do any shows? I sure wish Kara would have another one soon! 🙂
Such a cute strap, love the hand stitching and of course the “b”. Nice job! Thank you for sharing at Freedom Fridays. Have a Super Terrific Weekend!
Yes she will like it, and I’m still one of those ones “in the process”.
