Today when we got our mail there was a box on the porch. It was from Amazon.com. I could not remember ordering anything. I couldn’t figure it out and Trav didn’t know either. So I opened it. Good way to figure out what it was huh?
This was in inside.
My dear Sister asked me about a week ago what I wanted for my birthday. I told her what I’d been telling my kids when they asked – ‘I want my kids to listen right away, cheerfully.’ My Sister didn’t think she could deliver on that one. Funny thing is my kids weren’t too thrilled with that idea either.
I finally gave in and sent my Sister a list of ideas that I had started jotting down in anticipation of Christmas lists later this year.
A NLT Bible was one of the things on my list. And my Sister picked a good one! It is so beautiful! I love the silver edged pages and the dark turquoise lettering. The beautiful Robin Egg Blue on the end flaps and ribbon is just so much fun.
This Bible also includes a devotional for women called Sanctuary.
Here is an excerpt from the user’s guide: “SAFETY. REFRESHMENT. PEACE. What comes to mind when you think of sanctuary? Many people envision a place of retreat – a light-filled room, a comfortable worn chair, perhaps a fireplace or a garden oasis… No matter how or where you arrive at [the point of needing it], God has given you a longing for sanctuary. Even more important, he is always there to meet you.” NLT Bible – user’s guide
It looks like it will be very edifying and a wonderful addition to my stack of study books/Bibles. I am so excited about it!
The shapes used and the color make it really go well with my blog don’t you think??
The fellowship we attend every Sunday does not use one set Bible translation. When someone is asked to read or lead Bible study they read out of the translation they carry with them. We have a lot of different translations and we really appreciate the way you can get a clearer picture of what is being said when you use more than one. I’ve heard a couple people read out of the NLT and have been wanting a copy of my own for awhile now. I love my NIV and my comparison Bible – this will be a great addition 🙂 Thanks again Sis!

That’s beautiful! We appreciate the ESV and are wanting to buy one for the each of the boys to make family worship time and school more cohesive.
We like that version really well too. It’s the one Trav carries to church 🙂 He has the study Bible and it is great. Highly recommend it!
What a beautiful bible!
If a Bible can be cute, then this one is. 🙂 I like this translation too!
yep Colista, you got that right! This will be fun to carry to church 🙂
Just beautiful—thanks for sharing this translation of the Holy Bible….
I do like reading different translations.
Happy Birthday!
