Last week when my Mom was here to help with the school day I finally pulled everything off the shelf in my living room, cleaned it all and the shelf, and rearranged, regrouped, and redecorated!
I still love the fact that Trav was convinced to build me a shelf that spanned the whole width of the living room. I like that I can change things up whenever I want without putting more holes in the walls. He likes that too, and I think he’s rather glad that I convinced him 🙂
David still manages to find a prominent spot. And continues to brood. He’s still a favorite.
I scored this great window at a garage sale last spring for $4. It’s one of my favorite things right now.
My sister has faux white Ranunculus flowers and she put them in her old bottles. I blogged about them here. I have a bunch of Ranunculus flowers but mine are red. And I wanted white. I considered buying some at Jo-Ann Fabrics when I was there last but I talked myself out of it. They were not in the budget. Then a couple days after NOT buying them I noticed a bunch of white Ranunculus flowers that I had bought last year before the Brick Farmhouse Event. They were all bundled into a small bridal bouquet style.
It hit me that those flowers didn’t HAVE to be in that bunch, I could take them apart! And so I did. I was in such a hurry to get it done and get them all arranged in my glass jars that I didn’t even take time to take a ‘before’ picture, I just got ‘er done!
So now I don’t have to be envious of my sister’s white Ranunculus, I can just copy what she does using my own!! hehe!
I also dug through my ‘declutter’ pile for this print of french cakes. I knew it was in there somewhere and I really didn’t want to get rid of it. So I dug till I found it, used double sided tape to secure it to some cardboard and stuck it in this frame to change out the artwork in my dining room.
During my declutter I did a little ‘musical furniture’ shuffling. This is our blanket chest and it got moved to this spot in the dining room. The open shelving that was here got moved to the kitchen. The cupboard that was in the kitchen is now in my sewing room. And for now this works to fill the spot above the chest with some artwork.
